The scholarship and teaching and learning forms an important part of the centre’s identity and underpins much of our core work.

Each CED staff member belongs to one of six communities of learners (COL) who investigate a broad research question that relates to our goals in providing quality education and staff development:

1. How are our students learning?

2. What is good facilitation?

3. What is a good problem?

4. What is the role of technology in education?

5. What is critical thinking and reasoning?

6. What is the role of polytechnic education?

These COLs meet once a week to develop more specific research questions and issues and support members at various stages of their development of research capabilities.
